What is political monitoring?

Following what parliament and government do (debates, bills, hearings, inquiries, consultations and what MPs say) and flagging what affects your organisation. GovConnex does it across every Australian parliament, with briefings on your schedule and alerts in real time.

Which parliaments does GovConnex monitor?

All nine in Australia: federal, plus every state and territory, with their committees. It also covers the New Zealand Parliament, the UK Parliament at Westminster, the Scottish Parliament, the Senedd and the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Which briefings come with GovConnex?

All ten, from the AM Briefing to the Forward Diary, and all but Election Watch written for your organisation. You choose which arrive in your inbox.

How quickly do alerts arrive?

In real time, the moment GovConnex picks up a match. During a live hearing, a mention of your organisation is flagged while the hearing is on. Federal hearings are transcribed in full the same day.

How is it different from media monitoring?

Media monitoring tells you where you were mentioned. GovConnex follows the political process itself — bills, hearings, inquiries and consultations — tells you what each development means for your organisation, and keeps your team’s response in one place.

Can colleagues outside the team get briefings?

Yes. Anyone with an email address at your organisation can subscribe, without a GovConnex login. You can also forward any briefing or finding with your note on top.

Can we monitor keywords too?

Yes — an alert can watch a phrase as well as an issue, bill, committee or person. Briefings read for relevance beyond the words you choose.
